Overview

Poonindie is a small township on the Eyre Peninsula, just north of Port Lincoln, set within the historic Country of the Nauo People and the modern Barngarla territorial borders. The community is anchored by St Matthew’s Anglican Church, built in 1854–55 and still active, and retains several heritage‑listed mission sites that speak to its 19th‑century origins.
